A Texas Story
Once upon a time the City of Taylor was settled in the 1870’s as a stop along the international Great Northern Railroad, and was originally named Taylorsville after Edward Moses Taylor. The town soon became a bustling shipping point for cattle, grain, and cotton. In 1879 a fire destroyed 29 of the 33 buildings in town and was rebuilt and renamed to the City of Taylor. 115 W 2nd Street was part of this revitalization movement and is now a contributing structure with in Taylor’s downtown historic district.
